Orquesta
America was founded in 1968 by Ruben Otero. Mr. Otero's music career
dates back to 1962, when he formed a small
group called the Sugar Kings. The group was expanded and renamed
to Orquesta Cubaney, becoming the official band of the Anorda Cuba
Show, which was presented at the Dade County Auditorium in Miami,
Florida, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, New York, Tampa and Washington
D.C. Mr. Otero went on to form the Conjunto Crystal, which traveled
on several occasions to Guantanamo Bay to entertain the troops. Orquesta
America has served numerous corporate clients, including United
Airlines, Hyatt hotels, Intercontinental Hotels, Sonesta Hotels,
Sheraton Riverside, Bal Harbor, Cedars of Lebanon, Ocean Bank, Baptist
Health Systems and Anfitriones Nacionales de Mexico. Orquesta America also performs
at private functions such as weddings, anniversaries and any type
of event.
Orquesta American plays a wide
